Henry Gick, bap 1802 Santon, IOM
Greetings to anyone reading this!
My grandmother was Lilian Gick, born Wallasey, Cheshire, in 1888.Her great grandparents were Henry and Isabella Gick.
This is Henry Gick, baptised 16 Feb 1802 at Santon on the Isle of Man, the son of Thomas Gick and Jane, formerly Callow.
For a long time I assumed that this Henry was the chap baptised in 1798 at St.Nicholas, Liverpool, simply because my Henry settled in Liverpool. My thanks to Mark in the States who is descended from the Liverpool baby who went on to perform "derring do" in the American Civil War, while I know that my Henry, Master Tailor of Liverpool was safely at home at the time with his shears and chalk.
My thanks also to the watchers of the Isle of Man Family History Society board for giving me census information confirming that Henry Gick, Master Tailor of Liverpool was born on the Isle of Man.
Come on you Gicks!Join in!
Cheers, Gillian.
