In response to Alvin Ebert's message--
I am a greatgrandson of August and Auguste Giese, who emigrated from Germany in 1901 and settled in Minnesota.I would very much appreciate connecting with you, as well as with anyone else associated with our Giese family line.
Great-grandmother Auguste had a number of half-brothers and half-sisters whose surname is Dallüge and who emigrated from Nakel, Germany, to Minnesota in the late 1800s, ahead of the Gieses. Three who emigrated were Rudolph Dallüge in 1867, Bertha Dallüge in 1877, and Eduard Dallüge in 1886.
Great-grandfather August Giese had a younger sister, Wilhelmina, who married Herman Friese in Germany. Their family emigrated from Germany to Ludington, Michigan, in March 1881. Three daughters--Emma, Auguste and Clara--married and lived in the Ludington area until their deaths in the 1960s.
I would welcome further information and connections with existing family members for our line of Gieses, Frieses, and Dalluges. Thanks.
