"Son of Angus Gilchrist; b. Cantrye, Scotland; came to U.S. of America, 1770: Revolutionary War." Large flat slab marker. This grave is located in Section 3. update July 6, 2006 I have tonight found out who moved the tombstones from Hunter Cemetery, Maury County, Tennessee, to Old Courtland Cemetery, Courtland, Lawrence County, Alabama. They were moved about two years ago and only the tombstones were moved. The graves that were under the stones were left intact. They were at one time table top graves but all of them had sunk except the stones and they removed them because Malcolm's stone was already broken and the relative was afraid that the remainder of the stones would also become broken. The cemetery was in a state of abandonment and disrepair. I have not at the moment been able to talk with the individual who moved the stones and get permission to disclose the name of the party involved. Ms. Stephenson July 6, 2006 Tombstones at Old Courtland Cemetery in Lawrence Co. Remains are at Hunter Cemetery Maury Co., Tn. marked spot I do not know yet. The remain are left at Hunter Cemetery and the table top stones moved to Old Courtland Cemetery in Ala. Notify Administrator about this message?
