I am helping my daughter with the search for information on her father's family history. I know that many of the Gilchrist family members live in and around Witchita, Kansas, if that helps. Many years ago I was in possession of a family tree/history that showed the Gilchrist lineage, but at some point it was lost. I originally received the family history from my ex-husband's aunt, Opal Eliza Gilchrist Armfield. The document showed detailed information about the family all the way back to when the name was changed from Gilchriest to Gilchrist sometime in the mid-to-late-1800's. I have part of the file that I have reconstructed to the best of my abilities as shown below:
John Stanley Gilchrist
Born July 7, 1881.
Died June 1, 1968.
Married Sarah Belle Lisk.
Born May 20, 1879.
Died May 12, 1917.

I have quite a bit more information that I am trying to reconstruct from the garbled file I have, but it is slow going since I am relying on vague memories of the document I had.
