My paternal line is through William (Guillaume) Gilchrist (my 5th great grandfather) b 1751 and Susanne Roy b. 08 Feb 1758. I have been searching for information about his parents:
Jean Gilchrist was born 1732 in Scotland (I think). He died Bef. 1772. Shows he was in Johnston Co., North Carolina, USA in 1751 for the birth of their only child.
m. Beatrice Ronnald [4]. She was born Abt. 1734.
Jean Gilchrist and Beatrice Ronnald. They were married Abt. 1752 in Opelousas, St Landry, Louisiana, USA. They had 1 child who was William Jr.
There was a lot of activity concerning Jean Gilchrist and his descendants in this forum years ago, but it seems the email addresses are no longer valid. If anyone has any information concerning this line, Please contact me so we can compare notes.
