I am looking for true dates for William Gilchrist.

I am looking for the true date of birth for William Gilchrist, b.Philadelphia, Pa.13 Aug.1765 or 1782-d.19 Feb. 1835 - married 13 Mar.1804 Jane Orr, b. Pa. 15 June 1785-d.31 Aug.1833 Richland County. Ohio. One source says the gravestone of William Gilchrist when still readable showed he was 70yrs 6ms. The other source says the dates were taken from the family Bible which later burned in the house fire. So was Matthew the father or an older brother? Any help to clear this up for me will be greatly appreciated. -- Wm. C. Herndon
