DEATH CLAIMS OLIVER GILDEA

Services for Oliver Gildea, 70, resident of [Cheney] Spokane county for 61 years, were held Wednesday [29 Mar 1939] at 2 p. m. from the Christian church at Spangle with the Reverend George Bushell of Cheney officiating. Burial was in the Spangle cemetery. The Jerue Funeral home [See Ball & Dodd-Jerue Funeral Home] was in charge. Mr. Gildea died Sunday [26 Mar 1939] after a lingering illness.
He was born [10 Feb 1869] in Des Moines, [Polk County,] Iowa and came to the Spangle district [Spokane County Washington] in 1878. He lived there until 1925, when he moved to Cheney [Spokane County, Washington]. He was a member of the Spangle Odd Fellows' lodge and of the Cheney lodge of Modern Woodman.
He is survived by his wife, Daisy [Daisy Alice Harness]; two daughters, Mrs. Gracie [Grace M Gildea] Hurst, of Plaza and Alice [Alice E Gildea] at the home here; three sons, Loren [Loren C Gildea] in Idaho, LeRoy [LeRoy Osbon] of Idaho Falls, and George [George W Gildea] of Spangle; two brothers, Cal [Calvin Osbon] of Oregon City and Frank [Gildea] of Garfield, and two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Osborn [Harriet (Hattie) Gildea married Calvin (Cal) Osbon] of Fresno, California, and Mrs. Anna [Gildea] Parker of Los Angeles.
