If I remember correctly, your Catherine lived in Philadelphia. I am not sure how Philadelphia indexes its naturalization papers, but I can be pretty certain that you won't find anything for 1884. Most papers were not filed for several years afterwards. For example, an ancestor of mine came in 1869, but did not make his declaration of intent until 1876 and was not naturalized until 1883. Also, some were naturalized in county court, while others were in federal court. Hope this helps.
