Gildea family from Co Donegal Ireland
Posted by: Anthony John Gildea Date: July 24, 2000 at 13:21:24

Just got back from a family reunion in Ardara, Co Donegal. Gildeas from Philadelphia (Family of John), UK (Family of Francis Brendan)Australia (Families of Cahal and Foncie/Anthony)Ireland (Families of Mary[O'Donnel]Mona[Craig]). Other brothers and sisters are Celine and the late Patrick.

My grandmother was Gertrude and Grandfather was known as "The Saddler".

We would also like to learn a lot more about our roots and where the Gildea's originated from. We heard a story that somehow we were related to Spanish sailors who stayed in Donegal during the time of the Armada.

Can anyone help
