Hello Jim Gildea, I am the daughter of John Gildea also my grandfather was John Gildea born in 1882 of Donegal Ardara Co.I have just returned from a 12 day tour in Ireland . I also have been looking for information on my grandfather. While I was visiting the Cobh The Queenstown story in Cork, where I felt my grandfather left from to come to the states I was given some information to contact the National Library Of Ireland Kildare Street, Dublin 2.I also went on to find my grandmothers roots and went to the church rectory in the town where she was born and they looked up her name and and I found out all her brothers and sisters names and when they were born.I was also given an address of John F Kennedy Trust New Ross Co. Wexford (051)425239. I haven't looked into this information yet,as I have just gotten it and returned home but I will. I do hope this helps you. Barbara PS Have a good trip!
