My husband's maternal grandfather was WILLIAM GILLER of Bolton Lancashire (1892-1969). His father, also WILLIAM, was born in the town, but his father GEORGE GILLER was born around 1801 in Penwortham near Preston. He was a bed quilt weaver who died in Bolton in poverty. There seem to be lots of records of GILLERs in Penwortham in earlier centuries but the records around 1800 seem incomplete so I'm by no means certain of his line.
If you know more of the Lancashire Gillers and can help me make progress, I'd love to hear from you.
Best Wishes,
