I'm trying to link my ancestor, Cornelius GILLIS, with an Archibald GILLIS. My Cornelius was born in 1798 in Saratoga. After marrying Sarah JOHNSON, his first child was born in 1832 in Livingston County. He later moved to Monroe County and probably died in Orleans County. The first GILLIS to arrive in the Genessee / Livingston County area was an Archibald GILLIS who, according to census information, was born between 1760 and 1770. Do you have any additional information on your Archibald that might enlighten me?
