In my work on the Kidd/Kydd line I have come across the marriage cert of this marriage. My copy reads as follows

1855 marriages in the Parish of Arbirlot in the County of Forfar Registerd by Wm Gotoie registrar.

entry #3, page #2

On Twenty seventh April 1855 At Newton Parish of Arbirlot marriage after Banns was Solomized between us according to the cermonies of the United Presbyterian Church.

David Leys Kydd Residence present Arbroath usual Arbroath age 30 shoemaker bachelor born St. Vigeans s/o James Kydd and Margaret Kydd maiden name Leys fathers occupation was shoemaker
and
Margaret Gilles Residence present Newton Arbirlot usual Newton Arbirlot age 22 servant spinster born Glamis registered at Eassie 1833 d/o Thomas Gilles and Mary Gilles maiden name Strachan fathers occupation was farm servant

Minster was William Allan Minister of the United Presbyterian Church Park Street Arbroath

witness were James Kydd and David Dalgety.
