I am interested in your post about Grizzel Gillis. She is thought to be the sister to my John Gillis that married Ann Jenkins.Where did you get the info that she was born in Burk Co.,NC?Thta is the first reference to these Gillis being in NC this early.I have tax records that show this Gillis line in Botetourt Co.,Va untill 1782,but my mind is open. They fought the border wars against the indians and some were given land grant in KY I think one other went on to Ohio all this was before 1800,I have wondered if Thomas might have been in NC between 1782-1790.He was somwhere with all his children,this included Grizzy so you see why this birth date in NC is of interest to me.
