I am also working with Duane on this. this is the only info I have about James/Jacob Gilles..

A James Gilles age 62 found in state of Maryland on 1930 Census which would be about the right age for our Jacob/James. He marital status is listed as Widowed, Occupation-a Farmer. Worchester County, Election District 9, District 18. Born in Wisconsin. Parents born in Germany.

There were obits that mentioned James lived Maryland.

That's all I have. I'm sure Duane must have looked in wisconsin. How do you know that James was in Merrillan in 1938?
