My Grandfather had a brother also, Tom ( I met him once). I only met Ethel once, all though I was very close with his sisters Margaret and Thelma (SIS). I have not had much contact with my Father's family in the past 5 years. George Calvin Gillikin was married to Helen Fitzpatrick, My beloved Grandmother. I believe she died in 1987. They had two sons, Edgar allen Gillikin (born 8/26/52) and George Calvin Gillikin, Jr (born 2/24/54). Eddie (edgar) Has one daughter, Theresa ( I believe she was born August of 85). George Jr (Buddy) has 2 children by June Harris Gillikin (now Murray). They are George III Born 4/11/75, and Melissa lynn Gillikin Rolaf , born 4/30/74. He also has a son, Morgan Avenson born.12/7/88. My great Aunts, Margaret and Sis also have children and Grand Children. I know that Margaret has 3 grandchildren, Dennis, Michael, and Kathy. I have not seen them in many, many years and I do not remember their parents names. Sis has two grandsons, but I don't remember their names either. My Grandfather never really talked about his family. I don't know his mother or father's name. He told me that his father abandoned the family during the great depression. I know my Brother once visit a really old man named Alvy Gillikin in Ottway, he was described as quite a character ( that was putting it mildly). I'm not sure how e was related. I will try calling him to see if I can get more info. He lives in Morehead City. I not sure about the dates. My Grandparents had that great Irish Talent for embellishment and story telling, so I can't be sure about the validity of the tales I have been told. Melissa
