Joseph Duncan b. abt. 1792 Duplin Co., NC married Lottie Lucinda Dinkins b. abt 1805. Their daughter Amacivil Duncan b. abt 1825 d. abt 1845 married James Gillikin 17 Feb 1844. They had a son named James b. abt 1845. Amacivil died and James was married 27 May 1850 to Lucinda L. Duncan, known as Lotty. I believe Lotty may be Amacivil's sister because of the mothers name Lottie Lucinda Dinkins. James b. 25 Mar 1816 d. 3 Feb 1879. Lucinda "Lotty" b. 17 Dec 1829 d. 31 Jan 1882. They had children, Mary, Elishia and Samuel F. b. 9 Dec 1856 and yes he had a grocery business in Jackson, TN. Look on the web site of Jackson, TN for an article about him. James and Lotty are buried at the Ebenezer Cemetery in Madison Co. TN (see website). A very nice lady, whose name I can't remember off the top of my head went to the cemetery and took pictures for me. I am trying to tie James Gillikin in with my Gillikins in NC.
