Your information should link directly to Gillows living in Lancashire and recorded in the 1881 Census. The only family which fits at all is that of a Robert Gillow of Bournes Mill, Brindle, who was a cotton spinner aged 40 (i.e.born ca.1841), and born in Preston. His wife was Hannah, aged 35 and also born in Preston. The children of Robert and Hannah at that time were Isabella, aged 11, John J., aged 6, Thos., aged 4, and Richard. aged 2, who was born in Brindle. (i.e. born in 1878/79 and not 1875). How solid is your information on the 1875 date?
