As a 'healthy' Gilreath male, a descendant of the Samuel E. Gilreath who eventually settled at Hartshorne, Oklahoma (father of 18 children)- suicide is not what's on my mind where/when sex is involved. While Gilreath men are said to be known for being good at business things, sex is probably one of the pleasures of life for us - like God intended. Being part Cherokee from both, Dad and Mom, I was always hesitant to drink (alcoholism is a defined disease - I helped Uncle Clint (now deceased) out of the ditches I sometimes found him in -- several times. I know some family men who enjoy a shot of moonshine in the evening. Possum grape wine has a good taste in the fall. Gilreath men are generally known to be hard workers, industrious at what we do, we (at least I do) like to build things, the relatives I know are studious (I hold three college degrees, and completed considerable study on two others - had to stop work on my PhD/EdD when I made a job change - just 12 hours shy of finishing it. So - suicide? Why? - just think of all the hunting/fishing/gardening/haying/cutting wood/fixing fence/building barns/ working on stuff to be done (and yes, hugging & kissing around on the wife when 'the chance' happens). GreatGrandpa Sam must have had 'a way' about sex - unless the disease was liking sex (not adisease in my book). A hard days work is stimulating. The Bible says to keep it all 'moderate' - drinking (of alcohol), number of children?, how many wives? - that sort of thing. Everyone probably has a problem or so. My vote is build the Gilreath family up every chance we get. The world has/brings along enough problems without causing our own people to feel bad about themselves (self image is a known factor in terms of being important to mental health). Drugs sometimes help for a while, real solution(s) involve addressing the real problem(s). As a 58 year old Gilreath male, this is my quarter's worth.
