Photo of a G. M. Giltinan
Hello,
A relative of mine recently passed, and I came into possession of a large number of photographs that she had kept over the years. One of them is some sort of class picture book from the 1870's.There are about 15 photographs in the book. One of the photos is labeled 'G.M. Giltinan' from Philadelphia.
The only other shred of information I can give you is
that these *might*, be from a school for the blind, as
my great-great grandfather worked as a teacher at a
school for the blind during the 1870's.I know these
are from that period because a different photo
mentions that the person is from the class of '71.Whatever front or back cover might have existed with these photos is long since gone.
Anyway, if this sounds like an ancestor of yours, I'd
be happy to scan it and email you a digital copy of
the photo, all I ask in return is as much info as you
can give me about what he might have been doing, like
for instance if he was indeed blind, that would help
me to identify where this group of photos comes from.
Sincerely,
Donald Langhorne
