1816…. George Ginn had died in the previous months in Craven Co.. At the March term of Court of Craven, the court instructed the Sheriff of said county to collect the debt owed by the deceased George Ginn to Charles Roach for 20 barrels of tar, naming Jesse Ginn as the heir of said George Ginn. The 1818 Court minutes later show Jesse Ginn could not be found and the land was sold to pay the debt. Jesse Ginn would have been at least 21 by 1816. It is believed that Jesse had moved to Dobbs Co. after his father had died to live with other family members.
