Nothing in that message from Patricia relates to me.
My ancestor James Ginnane, and his brother John Ginnane were born on Coney Island, Ireland and emigrated to Australia in the early 19th century.
Their father was Thomas Ginnane and their mother was Catherine Coffey.
In Australia the surname was alternatively spelled as GINNANE or as GUINANE. THis was due to illiteracy. The Registrar would fill out birth or death documents and write the surname the way it sounded, rather than how it was.
I am trying to find evidence of the emigration of the brothers and also any information at all on their parents
