Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
My Ginters are from York County, PA. My father was Daniel Ginter Rosenberger (m.Margaret Morthland), his mother was Sarah Jane Ginter (m.Frank Rosenberger), her father was Daniel Henry Ginter (m. Lea Eppleman), his father was Henry Ginter (m.Harrietta or Henrietta Henise). His father was probably George Ginter (m.Susanna Strine/Strein), his father was Michael Ginter. Oral family history in two distant branches of the family say that Michael was one of three brothers who came here from Germany to avenge their father's murder.
There were several different Ginter families who came to this country to Pennsylvania before going elsewhere. So sortng out the Johns, Michaels, Conrads, Georges, Henrys, etc., is a little daunting. My fifth cousin Cliff Ginter and I decided a one-name newsletter was the answer. Since he hates computers and there are questions about copyright protection on the Internet (bylined articles are copyrighted by the author and we want to attract more people to write), we are making the newsletter snail mail only, but the costs (just the ink costs $60) make it impossible without a subscription. We will send a free copy to any Ginter descendant who asks for it and sends their snail mail address, but ask for a subscription after that to cover costs.
I hope this is not considered an ad.
