My Ginter family came from Dielingen, Westphalen, Prussia coming to the US before 1834. They first settled in Baltimore, Maryland then Cleves, Hamilton County, Ohio. Family would be 1. Johanne Heinrich Guenter died in Cleves Ohio after 1837. He was a farmer. 2. Garrett Heinrich Ginter (Gerd Heinrich Ginter) born Dielingen, Westphalen, Prussia, abour 1790-99. He was a fisherman in Maryland; a merchant and tailor in Ohio and did some farming in Indiana. Died 17 Oct 1851 in CLeves, Ohio and is buried in the President Henry Harrison cemetery in Cleves, Ohio (a family cemetery of Harrisons and Cleves, etc)with his wife Margeretha Louisa Ladd (died 12 July 1849) and youngest son Charles who died in 1853. 3. Louis (Lewis) Ginter born 6 April 1834 in Maryland. Married Anna Catherine Meyer (born 17 Aug 1833 in Germany) on 16 Oct 1856 in Dearborn Co., INdiana. He was a cook on flat boat going to New Orleans out of Cincinnatia, Ohio. He was a farmer in Shawnee County, Kansas, dying there 15 Jan 1904.
