Earl: Just getting into this message board thing, going through various names in my family tree(s), found the name Jacob Ginter, who is in my Madara tree (Madara was my mother's maiden name. My great grandfather, George Madara, was married to Mary Ann Rhoads, sister of Jacob's wife.
Jacob was born about 1834 in Berks Co., PA. He and Elizabeth Ann RHOADS married Sept. 12, 1859 in Mahanoy City, PA. Jacob died Feb. 17, 1897 of "Cancer of Stomach" in Shamokin, PA, and was buried in Shamokin Cemetery Feb. 20, 1897. I have a record of he and Elizabeth having 5 children, Gordon b. Feb 19, 1870, no date of death; Ferdinand, Born Aug. 23, 1873, Died April 1, 1893 in a mine accident. Body recovered April 4, burial was April 7 1893 in Shamokin Cemetery. Mary Ann, b. Apr. 22, 1875, married to Samuel Alexander Hubler, date of marriage unknown, died Jan. 27, 1906 and is buried in Shamokin Cemetery. William Ginter, b. Apr. 6, 1878, married Ella Fry Feb. 20, 1900 in Shamokin, PA, Ella died July 16, 1932, and William then married Vernet Taylor on Jan. 7, 1938 in Turbotsville, PA.
William died May 9, 1961 and is buried in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Township (Shamokin), PA. Robert Kennedy Ginter was born Jun 7, 1888 in Shamokin, PA. Married Ethel Mellon on Dec. 16, 1909 in Shamokin, PA. Robert died April 28, 1948 in Holidaysburg, PA and is buried in Shamokin Cemetery.
