Hello Ron:

We're around 12 generations, back to the late 1600's with Paul Girardin. His son Jacob Girardin/Scharadin/Sharadin immigrated to the US around 1748 to St. Vincent's Township, located in the Berks County area of PA. Jacob was married to a Francesca Wei(ie)dersham in Germany, and we believe had 4 children, he then married Maria Otilla Blasei (not sure of spelling) and had about 9 more. Not sure if he married Maria in Germany or US but we do have his Will which states that he had had a wife in Germany. He was from the Alscace area, which we understand was at times located in Germany, sometimes in France...depending on who owned the territory at the time.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Sally & Bob Scharadin
