Hi,
I am descended from Pierre Girardin, son of Francois Girardin and Marie Jeanne Frier Girardin, who came to St. Clair County Illiinois in 1834. One brother, Victor Girardin, lived in Galveston Texas and ran the Girardin House, a hotel, there in the late 1800's. My great-great grandfather Girardin, Pierre, died in 1860 in St. Clair County. I have a record that says they came from Haut Rhine but that is a big territory. Pierre had siblings Victor, Alexander, Florentine, Clement, Francois, Agathe, Fostine, Mary Jane, Celestine. My part of the family moved to Texas in 1868. Any information on where these Girardins came from in France? Lots of Girardins in the world I notice. Thanks.
Herb Bludeau
