I guess I am the only one still looked for my lost kin. No one has posted for a month..I need help, PLEASE.
JOHN W. GITCHELL born in PA in 1814, traveled south to GA. where he married Sarah Neal before 1850. In the July 1850 Census in Burke Co. GA. John and Sarah are listed with daughter Glarinda. John was a Hewer of Timber. Sometime before Oct. 1850 they moved because they are listed in the Murray Co. Oct. 1850 Census. In May 1854 in GA another daughter Sarah L. Gitchell was born, then my GG Grandmother Mary Gitchell was born in Murray Co. GA. October 19, 1855. I can not find "Ole" JOHN W. again in GA. However, I find a JOHN W. GITCHELL in ILL. in 1860 Census and a death record for JOHN W. GITCHELL killed in Delphi during the Civil War. Does anyone have any information about either of these JOHNS?
