Hi
Have seen your messages about Gladwyns in Essex.
My husbands great great grandfather was William Gladwin son of James Gladwin of Netteswell near Harlow. I haven't done research on this line but what might interest you is that William Gladwin and his wife Harriet (nee House) gave most of their children the name Gladwyn as their second name. ie Charles Gladwyn Gladwin. So it looks as if sometime the family spelt their surname your way. I am keeping my fingers cross that the family were not from Harlow as I read recently that the Harlow registers were stollen in the mid 19th century! Thats all I need!
Anyway Happy hunting
Sue Heys
