I have since found additional information on William Glancey (as I found it spelled) of the 87th Pennsylvania Infantry which would indicate that our Glancey's are likely not related.(Darn it!)
Glancey, William Pvt Co C; mustered June 10, 1864 (joined September 3), as a substitute for V. S. Doeblin; discharged June 29, 1865; born @1839/40 in Tippery, Ireland; a tailor from Williamsport, Lycoming County; 5' 9", brown hair, blue eyes; captured at the battle of Cedar Creek and sent to Salisbury Prison (Compiled Service Recrod says he joined the Confederate Army - questionable); shown again on the March - April muster in Camp Parole
