Mrs. J. R. Glassco of Montgomery & Gadsden AL?
Can anyone place the Mrs. J. R. Glassco / Glasco of Montgomery County AL that is listed in the obit of her father, James. M. Works of Gadsden, Etowah Co. AL? I do not know her name other than how it is listed in this obit, Mrs. J. R. Glassco. I would like to find some cousins out there!
(No date on this obit that I found in a relative's personal papers, but this same obit is listed in the records of Forrest Cemeterry in Gadsden AL with a burial date of June 12, 1951. I also found an AL death record for a James M. Works on June 9, 1951 in Montgomery AL. This obit mentions that he died at the home of his daughter in Montgomery AL, but lived in Etowah County his whole life.)
I believe James M. Works to be the son of J.M. Works (born circa 1834 NC) and Abigail/Abbie McCartney (born 1850). The 1880 census shows a James Works, age 7 in the household of Alfred H. Gibson (James'stepfather per the census) and Abbie Gibson (Abbie McCartney Works remarried in 1878 to Mr. Gibson)
Obit of James M. Works
