Hello, Michael!

Please reply to Jean Gleaves She is president of the Gleaves Family Reunion Site. They had a reunion in July with relatives from 12 states. The next reunion is slated to be held in Virginia in Summer of 2003.

The fair-skinned, wavy but fine hair sounds familiaar, My grandmother's side of the family (Letterlough) skin complexion varies from was medium brown to black-skinned folk.

That Silas Gleaves name sounds familiar. We have few family records or pictures due a fire that destroyed our home in Maxton, North Carolina in the early -60's. Leaving from South Carolilna also rings a bell.

Jean will be able to offer you lots more info.
