Hi Ann,

I am fairly sure that I am not related to Benjamin, but I do have some info on this line.

Benjamin was the youngest of 7 children born to George Gleaves and Sarah ?.

No record of Benjamin's birth or marriage has been found. He is mentioned in his father's will as receiving half of 293 1/3 acres leased from Lord Baltimore. Benjamin's share was to include a "dwelling plantation".

The birth of his daughter, Sarah, in St. Paul's Parrish, is the only known record to date. The birth documented in "Maryland Eastern Shore Vital Records". The other Eastern Shore Gleaves also lived in Kent County, although they are listed in Shrewsbury Parrish.

I have Mary Copper being born April 18, 1722 in St. Paul's Parish, Kent County, Maryland. I also have a date of death as February 11, 1775. Not sure where I picked up this info. I have her parents as George Copper Sr. and Mary Moss.

I have an extract of George Copper's will written in 1746. Have you seen this document?

Hope this helps. If I can be of any more assistance, you can reach me at dglaves@yahoo.com

Good luck,

Dennis
