Glennie who emigrated from Scotland to Ottawa area

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for information that anyone may have on the branch of the Glennie family that emigrated to Ottawa, Canada in about 1929.

the immigrant was Charles Glennie, who came from Aberdeen.
Here, he married Elizabeth (I believe) Wilson, who hailed (again, I believe) from GLasgow.

His father was William Glennie, who was born in Aberdenn in 1887, and died there I believe, in 1936.

His children were, aside from Charles, William, Lucille, Alexander, and a couple of kids who died in infancy.

Lucille married James Flinter (d. 2001) before emigrating to Canada, also to Ottawa, in 1960 or so.

here is the catch: "Glennie" was not William Glennie's patrinomial name; it was his mother's birth name. His father, according to family legend, was some high-born gentlemen named Blayne, or Blaine or Blane, what have you.
William Glennie's mum was reputably a servant to Mr. Blayne, had the child (William) out of wedlock, and thus was forced to give him her name instead of "Blayne."

Can anyone out there confirm this story? can you give me any more information on the Glennie family, as described here?

Andrew Glennie
