I have the following GLEW family in Normanton, just to the south east of Leeds. Is there any connection with yours? I'm including both the 1841 Yorkshire census and the 1851 from York Co., Ontario, Canada. 1841 Census, Normanton, Yorkshire, England (adult ages rounded down to the nearest 5 ?) John GLUE, 35, Brickmaker Mary GLUE, 40 William GLUE, 15 Ann GLUE, 13 Mary GLUE, 10 Phebe GLUE, 5 John GLUE, 3 Thomas GLUE, 2 mos Jane GLUE, 7 (all born in same county) 1851 Census Markham Twp., York Co., Ontario, Canada GLUE, John - Brick maker - England - Methodist - 49 - married - 1 1/2 story brick house. GLUE, Charlotte - England - Methodist - 53 - married GLUE, Phoebe - b. England - Methodist - 15 GLUE, John - England - Methodist - 13 GLUE, Thomas - England - Methodist - 11 The mother's name changes from Mary to Charlotte, but she's still older than John and I've had other grandmothers who have used a first name in one census and a middle name in the next. If, as I've been told, the adult ages in 1841 were rounded *down* to the nearest 5 year mark, then it would still fit and the children's ages fit perfectly. Notify Administrator about this message?
