Hi, Katharine.. I'm just beginning to research my ancestors who came to Canada from England, so I'm still a rank amateur. If the family was not Church of England (they're listed as Methodists in the 1851 Canadian census) would the marriage still be in the parish registers? I have another non-conformist line in Sussex in the late 1700s and have been told that it's doubtful that I'll be able to find a marriage record.
