Thanks for the info. Interesting that John Glew was a tailor and draper. Were the three children christened in Althorpe as 6 of their siblings?

Good luck in locating details of the Spences; my uncle listed the son's name as Jack rather than John which might help trace him.

Going further back I have details of 15 different Glew families (including Nevil & Elizabeth Glew and John & Jane Glew) that were married or had children christened in Althorpe parish church during the 1700s.

It seems from the latest posting that other Glews emigrated to Canada; it's a small world!
