Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

My John GLEW [or GLUE in the census] was also a Methodist and a brickmaker! This is from the 1852 Markham Twp., York Co., Ontario, Canada census:

"GLUE, John - Brick maker - England - Methodist - 49 - married - 1 1/2 story brick house." Besides wife Charlotte and daughter Phebe, age 15, [my Great-great-grandmother], others in the household were John, age 13, and Thomas, age 11. Everyone was born in England.

I'll see what I can find on the web about the Isle of Axeholme. Thanks!

Jane
