Hi Adrian

I found your entries on this site extremely interesting and very topical for me. I have driven passed Glew's Garage many a time (before the opening of the M62) on the way to Brid, Hornsea etc., and we always speculated on whether we were distant relatives.

You mention that your roots are in the Isle of Axholme, and Althorpe in particular. I have traced our branch of the family back to Althorpe with the birth of Thomas in 1799 to Robert and Mary. Thomas and his brother John became Keelmen and moved out of the Isle to Hull and Leeds.

Prior to Robert, his grandfather was Samuel (wife Sarah Nevil) with sons Nevil, Samuel and William (who were all brickmakers). Does your ancestor line link in with any of them?

Bye for now and look forward to hearing from you
Geoff
