roy glover
i have previously posted a message but wanted to do so again for more information.i have reached a dead end in my research and any help would be appreciated.the information that i have is this:my great grandfather roy glover was born in 1910.at the age of six his mother took him to an orphanage in baltimore maryland named st. vincents male orphan asylum.some people have told me that he was then moved to a brethern orphanage in neffsville pennsylvania but that is not positive.at any rate--the orphanage in baltimore burned down along with all records so i am unable to obtain any birth records.his mothers name was edith and he attended her funeral in cumberland. there were three other brothers named albert, ephraim, oscar, and possibly a half brother named andrew.i found roy glover in the 1920 census in the orphanage in baltimore.he was taken from the orphanage at 14 to a farm in ridgley maryland to work as a farm hand.he then went on to serve in world war ii but was not overseas.a family member told me that roy never knew what his fathers name was.i was also told that one of the brothers owned a deli in cumberland maryland.roy glover died in 1994 and was married to naomi walls.if any one at all has any information on this family i would greatly appreciate any help.i do not know where to go from this point and seem to be stuck.please contact me at [email protected].
