My ancestor William Glover (b. c1790, Dumfries) married Ann Watmough in 1816 in Warrington, Lancashire. They emigrated to Prince Edward Island (PEI) after the birth of their first son William (b. Nov 1816, Warrington, Lancs).
I am curious about why William, who was apparently born in Dumfries, was in Lancashire. I am also looking for the link between the White Sands Glovers and the Kensington Glovers on the Island.
I have a list of siblings for William, some of whom also came to the Island:
Walter Glover b. 1791, Dumfries, m. Ann Linkletter on the Island in 1827.
John, b. 1793, Dumfries, no further info
Catherine b. c 1795, d. 1842 PEI, m. John Borthwick
Adam b. 1795, died young
Mary b. c 1806, d. 1869 PEI, m. 1)1821 John Clay; 2)1838 Israel Green
Janet b. 1812, Dumfries, d. 1888, PEI; m. David Walker
I haven't started looking through the Dumfries parish registers yet.
Any info greatly appreciated,
