James & Julia (Fleming) Glynn, 1869-1872
Searching for any info on the ancestors and descendents of James GLYNN (b.1846 in Ireland; d.1917 in Natick, MA) and his wife Julia FLEMING (b.1847 in Ireland; d.1909 in Natick, MA).The 1880 Federal Census said they had the following children:Patrick Francis Glynn (b.1867 in Ireland; d. 1926 in Natick, MA), Michael Glynn (b.1869 in Ireland; d.unk), Mary Glynn (b.1872 in Natick, MA; d.1928 in Natick, MA) and James Glynn (b.1878; d.unk).According to Natick birth records, they may have also been the parents of "Maggie" Glynn (b.1880 in Natick, MA; d.unk).As you can see by the children's birthdates and locations, the family left Ireland and went to MA between 1869 and 1872.
- Patrick Francis GLYNN married Julia Frances GOLDEN (b.1870 in Natick, MA; d. 1959 in MA) in May 1893.They were my great-grandparents and I have their descendents. If anyone is interested, I can provide that info.
- Michael GLYNN possibly married Margaret Elizabeth BARNICLE (b.1871; d.unk) in April 1910.There is a Natick marriage record for a "Michael Joseph Glynn" (b.abt. 1870) and "Mary Elizabeth Barnicle"--so possibly this Michael Glynn.Children are unk. There are no Natick birth records from 1878-1913 for a couple with those names.
- Mary GLYNN married Michael J. HORRIGAN (b.1871; d.1931 in Natick, MA).I am fairly sure Mary Glynn married him, because the names "Micheal J. Horrigan" and "his wife Mary E. Glynn" are on the same tombstone with the names of "James Glynn" and "his wife Julia Fleming" (her parents). There's a Natick marriage record of a "Michael John Horrigan" and a "Mary Elizabeth Glynn" in Nov 1906, presumably the same people, with a Natick birth record for at least one child, John Horrigan (b.1909 in Natick, MA; d.unk), born to a couple with those same names.
- James GLYNN possibly married Catherine (Unknown). No Natick marriage record, but a couple named "James H. and Catherine A. GLYNN" had at least three children in Natick:Alice Gertrude Glynn (b.1902; d.unk), Mary Glynn (b.1903) and Florence Glynn (b. 1907, d.unk).I am less confident of this marriage because there was more than one James Glynn in that area by 1900.
- Maggie GLYNN: No further info.
I am interested in trying to find out more about my great-grandfather's siblings' families, as well as his father's and mother's families in Ireland.I don't know where they were from in Ireland.I have begun to search ship passenger lists for Boston arrivals between 1869-1872, but have not found their names yet.Any additional information onthese people--either the GLYNNs or their spouses' families, the FLEMINGs, GOLDENs, HORRIGANs and BARNICLEs--would be much appreciated. Thanks,Julia
