Hi Cindy;
My grandmother was Briget Rudden (b 1907) in Scotshouse, Clones, Co. Monaghan (Cavan Border) to John Rudden (1877) and Alice Glynn (1865). There may be some connection here as you also have both surnames in your family.
Do you know where they are from in Ireland.
Alice's parents were John Glynn (b c 1930) from Drumbaragh, and Anne Clerkin from Mountain Hill.
John Ruddens father was Matthew Rudden (b1852 aka Matha Rudden))from Callowhill, and grandfather Mathew Rudden (born circa 1828/30) and grandmother Rose Reilly.
The name of Bernard Rudden does appear in a large number of Rudden descendants as Benny.
If any of these place names sound familiar (all on the Monaghan Cavan Border) or even the name Matthew Rudden then perhaps there is some connection.
Most Glynns appear to come from Galway, but most Ruddens are from Monaghan/Cavan and some from Donegal.

John Kelly
