William Brown Gobin, who died in 1935, had received the bible from the estate of his father, General J.P.S. in about 1912. Upon the death of W.B.Gobin, the bible then became the property of his youngest son, William L Gobin. In 1967 he signed an affidavit to prove the custody of the bible from 1912 to the present date(1967) which supports the authenticity of the genealogical notations in the bible. Although I have the information from the page with the births and deaths, I understand there was also older notations concerning the Shoemaker family from 1683 but I do not have that information.
