Hugh Gobin,b.1725 Wales,d.1792 Sunbury, Penn.
According to papers supplied by Judge William Linholm Gobin of Rocky Ford, Colorado, in his application for membership to the Colorado Chapter of the National Society, Hugh Gobin(Goeben)was a Huguenot(French Protestant) born in Wales, abt. 1725 and d. 1792 at Sunbury, Northumberland Co., Pa. He came from a family of Alsatian refugees. These notes:"Jean Pierre Gobin,b. 1 Mar,1660, was the son of Nicholas and Ann Leroy. His name appears in the oldest church book of the "Eglise Francoise Reformee" of Bischweiler (Lower Alsace) from 1645-1879." Have more! if needed.
