Hello: Saw your post on genforum.com about John Goben and Susan America Goben and hope you are still checking with the net .... I am related to James Goben, probably John's son. I have a copy of a marriage license of James Goben and his marriage to Caroline Slaton in Union Co Kentucky on 2-21-1848 and it was signed and witnessed by John Goben... I am almost sure this is the same James and feel that Catherine Harris Slaton that was married prior to James in 1847 must have been a sister or relative to Caroline Slaton. I also have James military (Civil War records) James and Caroline moved later to Greene County Indiana.... My grandmother was a grand daughter to James and Caroline and was named Caroline. My grandmothers names was Catherine Elizabeth Goben and she was daughter to James and Caroline. Catherine Elizabeth Goben was married to William Riley Hash from Greene County Indiana. I have some family history of the Hash family, but do not have much information on the Goben's ....Would like to hear from you and compare. Thanks in advance.
