Hello,
Your ancestors (Godin) are most probably descended from Antoine Godin from St-Eustache Québec. Antoine, married to Véronique Savard had a son named Joseph (married to Mélina Pelletier) who was sent to the Pembroke area at the time of the confederation (1850’s - 1860’s) to control fur thieves on the Ottawa river near Pembroke. There was trading post in Fort William Québec (which is still there today).
One of my friends from Pembroke (David Godin) is a descendant of this Godin.
I am related but about 4 generations earlier, back to Charles, the original Godin In Québec.
The Godins from New Brunswick are another line completely as far back as France and prior to 1550.

Good luck with your search
