Looks like Leonidas Honest Godsey's mother was Rhoda Cofflin, instead of Rhoda Coffin as the marriage record showed:
1880 census: Elon, Amherst Co., VA
158-164 William Cofflin, 46, farmer, VA, VA, VA
Sarah E., 47, wife, VA, VA, VA
Mary E., 22, daughter, VA, VA, VA
William T., 20, son, VA, VA, VA
Nathaniel M., 17, son, VA, VA, VA
Robert E., 14, son, VA, VA, VA
Milton, 9, son, VA, VA, VA
Rhoda A., 7, daughter, VA, VA, VA
Lewis, 4, son, VA, VA, VA
1870 census: Elon, Amherst Co., VA
166-160: William J Cofflin, 35, farmer, VA
Elizabeth, 33, VA
Mary E., 13, VA
William, 11, VA
Nathaniel, 8, VA
Robert H., 6, VA
Milton, 6/12, VA
So, you see that Rhoda was the daughter of William Cofflin.Hard to see which wife (if they are two separate wives) was her mother - either Sarah E (born ca 1833) or Elizabeth (born ca 1835).That was until I found the marriage on familysearch.org: William Joseph Cofflin married Sarah Elizabeth Pugh, 4 March 1856, Amherst Co VA.This marriage jives with birth of the first child shown in the census to that marriage - that of Mary E who was born ca 1857 - just a year after marriage.
