Hi, I was born in the city of Saint John ,New Brunswick,Canada 35 years ago. My dad Stanley Goguen was also born there,& he has 4 brothers. I do know personally 2 cousins (second cousins) that live in saint john N.B. And there are some other goguens from the North end of saint john N.B. that I ve been informed of who are my second cousins (a female for sure & her name might be barbara)
My dad has an uncle from saint john nb named Leo Goguen.
I have learned from a goguen family reunion that all the goguens in nb have originated from one initial Joseph goguen who came to the shediac nb area from France in the 1700's. He married & had some 5 children then his wife died, later he married again & had some 5 or 6 more children when somehow this wife died, & eventually he married again & had some more children (3-5). And so all the goguens in & from nb have originated from one of these three lines of goguens. And I did learn that all of the variations of the spelling for goguen, gogan, gogueun, etc... are changes from the original french spelling.
I do know some more info , and I hope this helps.
