From "The Booker T. Washington Papers"..

Howell L. Goins of Tuscaloosa, Alabama is mentioned in a letter to Booker T. Washington
written by David Lee Johnston of Pratt Mines, Alabama, 9-25-1889.

Howell L. Goins was a classmate of Johnston from 1885 to 1889 at Tuskegee. After graduation,
Howell taught in various towns in Alabama.

This has to be the same Howell whose descendants I am searching for..
